Home Workouts: 7 Effective Exercises for Every Room
If you’re looking to stay fit at home, you can create an effective workout routine using everyday spaces. Here are seven exercises that you can do in different rooms of your house.
1. Living Room: Bodyweight Squats
Use your living room to perform bodyweight squats. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, lower your hips back and down, and then return to standing.
2. Kitchen: Countertop Push-Ups
In your kitchen, use the countertop for push-ups. This modified version is great for beginners and helps build upper body strength.
3. Bedroom: Plank Jacks
Transform your bedroom into a fitness zone with plank jacks. Start in a plank position, jump your feet out and in like jumping jacks, and keep your core tight.
4. Bathroom: Wall Sits
Take a minute to perform wall sits in the bathroom. Find a wall, slide down until your thighs are parallel to the floor, and hold for as long as possible.
5. Hallway: Lunges
Utilize the hallway for walking lunges. Step forward with one leg, lower your hips until both knees are bent at about a 90-degree angle, and alternate legs.
6. Garage: Step-Ups
If you have a step or sturdy box in the garage, try step-ups. Step up with one foot, bring the other foot up to meet it, and step back down.
7. Home Gym (if applicable): HIIT Circuit
Finally, if you have a dedicated home gym, create a HIIT circuit combining exercises like burpees, jumping jacks, and mountain climbers for an intense workout.
By adapting your surroundings, you can maintain your fitness routine without needing a gym membership.
